San Rafael Falls (Cascada San Rafael), situated at the foot of Reventador Volcano in the east of Andes, are the highest and definitely most powerful waterfall in Ecuador. Their height is over 525 ft (160 m) and the sight of the enormous amounts of water dropping down every second is truly powerful. The falls are located in the rainforest therefore the natural diversity is another reason to visit this amazing site. Various species of wonderful exotic birds inhabit the site.
